In view of the long tradition of academic excellence and under the guidelines prescribed by the University Grants Commission, MIT WPU offers the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
The following schools offer Ph.D. and have excellent research facilities and expertise for the research scholars.
-
School of Computer Engineering and Technology
-
School of Electronics and Communication Engineering
-
School of Civil Engineering
-
School of Mechanical Engineering
-
School of Petroleum, Polymer and Chemical Engineering
School of Petroleum, Polymer and Chemical Engineering
The rules for admission to the Ph.D. program and the duration of Ph.D. program are as per the guidelines of University Grants Commission and academic ordinances/regulations of MIT-WPU. For admission to Ph.D. Program, students should have cleared a Master’s degree in the appropriate stream from a recognized institute of repute. The students are expected to complete course work and undertake research work that is original work characterized either by the discovery of facts, or by a fresh approach towards the interpretation and application of facts, or development of equipment making a distinct advancement in technology. Ph.D. degree is granted for research work in areas recognized by the academic School.
MIT WPU thrives on a strong research culture that nurtures creativity and promotes investigation for a social benefit. The University believes in establishing support systems that boost morale and enhances a positive research culture. The faculty are encouraged to contribute their research findings in referred journals and calendar conferences, filing patents, IPR and converting the research into product/prototype. MIT –WPU has research collaborations with various research organizations and industries. Most of the schools have received research funding from various funding agencies in India and abroad.
MIT-WPU has consistently topped the ranking of engineering institutions and is widely recognized in India and abroad for its excellence in education.
With a legacy of four decades behind it, the MIT-WPU Petroleum, Polymer and Chemical Engineering is one of the foremost centres of chemical engineering within the whole of India. This is essentially confluence of unique, diversified and multidisciplinary domains of Petroleum, Polymer and Chemical Engineering. We have around 40+ Faculty members with expertise in diversified areas of specialization and working in the frontier areas of research. Founded to meet the rising demand for Chemical Engineers in the country, it has produced a competent and talented workforce for over forty years. The state of the art laboratories along with a highly qualified academic staff ensure that the MIT-WPU School of PPC Engineering excels at research, something the burgeoning Chemical and allied Industry sorely needs.
